Shingles are useful

Years ago, while jogging during the summer, I noticed where roofing shingles had fallen off the back of a roofing truck onto the street. It was hot and the shingles melted becoming part of the street.
After that, I would take shingles that had fallen onto the grass and put them into potholes. I checked back the next day and the potholes were completely covered up as the shingles also are made out of asphalt.
Tons of shingles are being taken to the dump that could be used for pothole repair. Perhaps the Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen could look into this. An asphalt company could recycle the shingles.
