Pottery workshops offered in Vicksburg
Art at Heart, 1915-D Mission 66, has scheduled adult pottery workshops for beginners in October and November. Learn the hustle at SCHC dance class
The Southern Cultural Heritage Center, 1302 Adams St., has scheduled dance lessons from 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 7 and 21.
The hustle will be taught by instructor, James Frechette, owner of Applause Dance Factory. The cost is $10 per person.

Disney On Ice schedules 8 shows
Disney On Ice has scheduled eight shows in November at the Mississippi Coliseum, in Jackson. Tickets are $12, $35 and $45 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com. Trailfest Saturday on Natchez Trace
The Natchez Trace Parkway, the National Park Foundation and Bike Walk Mississippi will host Trailfest on the Trace from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the parkway information cabin near Ridgeland. The free event, celebrating local history, nature and the outdoors will offer activities, music and vendors.

River exhibit set at Alcorn State
The J. D. Boyd Library at Alcorn State University is hosting the exhibit “A River Unleashed: the 1927 Mississippi River Flood” through Oct. 31. The exhibit features photographs and maps detailing the Mississippi River Valley when floodwaters covered over 26,000 square miles of land in seven states. The flood displaced over 700,000 and killed hundreds. The exhibit is at the entrance of the library, 1000 ASU Drive #539 in Lorman and is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 11 p.m. Sunday.
