CARLISLE — Lucinda Coleman Doss died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 93.
Mrs. Doss was preceded in death by her husband, John Percy Doss; her parents, Henry and Susie Hubbard Coleman; four brothers, Robert, Willie, Richard and James Coleman; three children; two stepsisters, Laura Bea Howard and Roxie Marbra; and one granddaughter, Doris Benson.
She is survived by seven daughters, Bobbie Doss-Scutter of Port Gibson, Catherine Doss-Dingle of Laurelton, N.Y., Holly Doss of Jackson, Susie Doss-Jones of Palm Coast, Fla., Joyce Doss-Wells of Jamaica, N.Y., and Annie Laura Doss-Miller and Annie Doss-Benson, both of Bronx, N.Y.; three sons, John Percy Doss Jr. of Carlisle, Martin Doss of Brandon and Calvin Doss of Dallas, Ga.; one sister, Rosie Trimble of Utica; one stepsister, Annie Richardson of Carlisle; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Annie Coleman of Carlisle and Mildred Coleman of Pattison.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Springfield M.B. Church, Myles-Station Road in Carpenter, with Pastor Gregory Mayfield officiating. Burial will be at the Coleman Family Cemetery in Carlisle. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Utica and Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until the service.
