A map accompanying a story on the City of Vicksburg’s plans for the Fisher Ferry property that appeared in Friday’s edition incorrectly indicated the location of dirt work for the proposed ball fields. The dirt work for the fields was west of the sewage treatment pond, which is out of the flood plain created by Hatcher Bayou, though part of the property purchased by the city for the complex is in the flood plain. According to city flood plain maps, the base flood elevation along Hatcher Bayou, north of the dirt work, is about 121 feet. The city’s topographic maps show that the elevation of the area where the dirt work was done is 140 feet.
