Blue lights will illuminate the Old Court House Museum — Eva W. Davis Memorial for another three weeks, curator Bubba Bolm said.
The cool, blue beams will light the museum through Oct. 28, when a candlelight vigil wraps up Domestic Violence Month. The lights were meant to draw attention to Domestic Violence Month and the National Night Out Against Crime program on Tuesday.
“Originally, they were going to be up two nights,” Bolm said. “But, we’ve had a lot of comments about it.”
Since January, about 7,500 cases of domestic violence in Mississippi have been reported to the Attorney General’s Office, according to the office’s Domestic Violence Unit.
