Matt Puckett died Tuesday, March 20, 2012. He was 35.

Matt was preceded in death by his beloved “Daddy,” Harold Puckett Sr.; and a brother, Jason Dean Puckett.

Matt was an Eagle Scout and was a graduate of Perry Central High School in New Augusta, Miss. He was a talented writer and wrote many essays and short stories. He inspired many people with his kindness and courage, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Larry and Janie Ross of Utica; his mother, Mary Stennett Puckett of Vicksburg; his sister, Angel Brumfield of Rodney; and three brothers, Mark Puckett of Port Gibson, Harold “Trey” Puckett III of Pattison and Paul Michael Puckett of Vicksburg.

Memorial services will be Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Murphy and Wayne Whiteside officiating.
