Ruth Tedder Shoops

HOLLY BLUFF — Mrs. Ruth Tedder Shoops, 88, of Holly Bluff, formerly of Memphis, passed away at River Region Medical Center Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012.

A celebration of life service was at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, Miss. Interment followed at North Cleveland Cemetery.

Mrs. Shoops was born Oct. 25, 1923, to John Rube Tedder and Pearl Steed Tedder in Boyle, Miss. She married Charles Winfred Shoops Dec. 23, 1942, in Hernando. Mrs. Shoops was a housewife, but worked at an aircraft factory during World War II. She cared for her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Charles Winfred Shoops of Holly Bluff, formerly of Memphis; daughter, Peggy S. Moody (John L.) of Holly Bluff; son, Charles “Sonny” Shoops of Holly Bluff; grandchildren, J.L. Moody and James Richard Shoops; great-grandchildren, Haiden Shoops and Kierstyn Shoops; sister, Emma T. Moody of Cleveland; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James Albert Tedder.
