UTICA — Mr. Reuben D. “Buddy” Price Jr., 84, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, after a brief illness at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. Visitation was held today, March 2, at 10 a.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica. Services immediately followed at 11. Interment was at the Utica Cemetery.

Buddy was born on Aug. 8, 1927, in Utica. He was raised in Utica and spent most of his lifetime there where he farmed and owned and operated a local service station. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father and mother, Reuben Sr. and Mamie Price; and his sisters, Marie Gunter Briley, June Cook and Patsy Gregory, whom he adored.

Surviving family members include his niece, Gail Gunter of Columbus; nephews, Hank (Becky) Gunter of Columbus and Woody (Paula) Cook of Brandon; great-nieces and -nephews, Lisa Wiggins of Columbus, Kathryn (Bob) Phillips of Columbus, IV (Beth) Gunter of Columbus, Angi (Harry) Wilson of Madison, Melanie (Brandon) Brown of Madison, Allyson Mitchell of Madison, Lindsey (Steven) Duncan of Brandon, Rueben Todd (Brandi) Cook of Utica and Sherwood Thomas (Jan) Cook of Utica; cousin, Lois Ann Heflin of Jackson; and a host of great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Pallbearers were IV Gunter, Harry Wilson, Brandon Brown, Bob Phillips, Reuben Todd Cook, Sherwood Thomas Cook and Steve Duncan.
