The engagement of Kourtney Inez McWhorter to Cornelius Michael Miller, both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 4 p.m. June 23, 2012, at Greater Grove Street M.B. Church. A reception will follow at Baltes Gym. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Miss McWhorter is the daughter of Jessica McWhorter of Vicksburg and the late Bobbie McWhorter of Columbia, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Eddie Lee Jones and the late Ethel Mae Jones of Vicksburg and the late Sherfield and Inez McWhorter of Seneca, S.C.

Mr. Miller is the son of Va-nessa Miller and Gerald Maxey, both of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of John and Irene Maxey and Larry and Cornelia Miller, all of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She attended Hinds Community College.

Miss McWhorter is employed at Walmart.

The prospective groom is a 2003 graduate of Warren Central High School. He attended Alcorn State University

Mr. Miller is employed at Kroger.
