Martha Nohra Farris

Mrs. Thomas David Farris (Martha Nohra Farris) passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 85.
She was the manager for many years for the Vicksburg Catholic School cafeteria. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Born on June 14, 1926, in Gulfport, she had lived most of her life in Vicksburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas David Farris; her mother, Minnie Nohra; her father, T.G. Nohra; sister, Evelyn Meronek; and brother, George Nohra.
Survivors include one son, Thomas David Farris (Cathy); one daughter, Linda Farris Wright; two sisters, Delores Coomes and Josephine Fulcher (William H. “Tuddy”); one brother, David Nohra (Judy); five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Mike Weaver, Joseph Tarver, Bill Fulcher, Mike Coomes, Jordan Nohra and John Coomes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gloria Sullivan, Clay Wright, Dr. Daniel Edney, residents of Magnolia Manor and the staffs of Promise Hospital and River Region.
Memorials may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church or Vicksburg Catholic School.
