As a concerned citizen, and a native of Vicksburg, I would like to comment on the latest news concerning Kiddie City Child Care Center drama.

I have had the privilege of firsthand experience in that center. During my time there, I found it to be one of the best day cares in the city. I know everything was in place and the workers did an extremely good job. This day care facility has been in operation more than 25 years without any problems.

The owner is a highly educated person with more than 40 years in an educational capacity. Her first responsibility has always been for the safety and welfare of children. I want to say how sorry I am to hear of all that has happened there these past weeks.

It is so heartbreaking to hear that a child can do such dangerous acts to another child. That child does definitely need some mental evaluation for his apparent behavior.

I do know that the owner of the day care takes all necessary actions to make sure the center is safe for all children. This incident is so unfortunate for all involved. The child was under the supervision of a day care worker, who, from the news report, was not doing her job. She and the child have been removed from the center, and the owner is making sure nothing like this will happen in the future.

From my observations of the video, the malicious acts this child did were horrible, but the fact remains, he apparently was not being watched. The blame has been placed on the responsible individuals and more safety measures have been put in place.
