Vicksburg Fire Department personnel work to stabilize Taraya Samuels, 23, 1530 Marcus St., after she lost control of a Chevrolet she was driving north on Halls Ferry Road Thursday morning and drifted across the median before striking a utility pole near the Interstate 20 on-ramp. Samuels was taken to River Region Medical Center and tranferred to University Medical Center in Jackson, where a spokesman said she was in fair condition this morning. No other vehicles were involved.
