Carruth, Jones exchange vows

William Denman Carruth and Lindsay Elizabeth Jones were married at 6 p.m. May 5, 2012, at Hawkins United Methodist Church. The Revs. Susannah Grubbs Carr and Charles Christopher Young officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Steven Jones of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Frances Kelly Jones of Mathiston, the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Jasper Jones of McCool and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willard Edward Harding Jr. of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dean Carter Jr. of Madison, Ala. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hugh Denman of Brookhaven and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dean Carter of Knoxville, Tenn.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were merlot and gold. Nuptial selections were presented by Ann Perrier, organist; Georganne Swillie, pianist; and Laura Kate Watts and Raymond Perrier, vocalists.

Maid of honor was Heather Lauren Shelby of Vicksburg. Bridesmaids were Jessica Elaine Bagwell and Katie Marie Jenkins, both of Vicksburg; Rebekah Walker Olsen and Laura Kate Evelyn Watts, both of Starkville; Angela Matson Getz of Hattiesburg; Kayla Elizabeth Hentz of Batesville; and Geny Louise Kimbrell of Decatur, Ala.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Justin Harding Jones and Keaton Edward Jones, both of Vicksburg; David Kelly Francis of Starkville; John Robert Nevels of Decatur; James Brady Carruth of Panama City Beach, Fla.; Brian Andrew Chapman of Louisville, Ky.; and Jason Mark Simmons of Farmington Hills, Mich.

Ushers were Craig Michael McRae of Valparaiso, Fla., and Christopher David Young of Brandon.

A reception followed at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to St. Lucia. They will make their home in Vicksburg.

The bride is a Certified Public Accountant with May & Company, and the groom is a civil engineer with the Engineer Research & Development Center.

Bridesmaids’ brunch

On the morning of the wedding, a bridesmaids’ brunch was held at A Wild Hair salon. Hostesses were Donna Butler, Anne Cole, Nancy Gray, Brenda Koestler, Cathey Ludke, Tina Nasif and Nell Palermo.

Rehearsal dinner

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Anchuca Bed & Breakfast on the eve of the wedding.

Family brunch

Dr. and Mrs. Robert Clingan hosted a brunch for family members of the bride and groom at their home, Great Hope Manor, the morning after the wedding.

Showers

Cornerstone Sunday school class hosted a miscellaneous shower at Hawkins United Methodist Church.

The couple was honored with a barbecue and honey-do shower at the home of Pat and Robert Tisdale. Hosts were Bob and Susan Athow, Mike and Nancy Biggers, Gary and Lin Cheslek, Lanz and Pam Dorrell, Larry and Kay Holman, Paul and Karen Miller, Robert and Pat Tisdale and Joy Wing.

The bride and groom were honored with a miscellaneous shower given by employees of May & Company LLP.
