Hunter Edge of Greenville, S.C., drags his 14-foot kayak onto a sandbar on the Mississippi River at Vicksburg Wednesday. Edge is on a trip from the river’s headwaters in Lake Itasca, Minn., to the Gulf of Mexico to raise money for the Children’s Heart Foundation. Edge said he and another paddler have raised about $2,000 so far.
