HERMANVILLE — Ernest Evans died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 76.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Evans Jr.; a daughter, Cleo Evans; his parents, Armstead “Bully” Evans Sr. and Molly Evans; two brothers, Armstead Evans Jr. and Robert Evans Sr.; and three sisters, Maggie Evans Brooks, Emma Evans O’Quinn and Mary Lee Evans Neal.

He is survived by five sons, Sylvester Hicks of Atlanta and Michael Evans, Antonio Evans, Tyrone Hicks and Randy Evans, all of Hermanville; five daughters, Annette Evans of Fayette and Emma Evans, Roshunda Evans, Helen Hicks and Angela Evans, all of Hermanville; three brothers, Robert Evans and Sammie Evans, both of Hermanville, and Theodore Evans of Chicago; one sister, Mary Evans Brown of Hazlehurst; 25 grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Hermanville with the Rev. Johnny Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.
