Ted Sturges

Ted Sturges passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, after a lengthy illness. He was 83.
Ted worked as an electrical engineer in San Marcos, Calif. in the 1950s. He owned a recording studio in Memphis and was an engineer for North American Aviation in Florida. He was retired from Big Wheelie Skating Rink, where he was the owner and operator along with the help of his inseparable friend, “Ms. Martha,” who passed away in 2008. Ted was an avid leader in the John Birch Society. His hobby was flying his airplane. He loved working with sound systems and would volunteer his services to local churches. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Lila Sturges of San Marcos; a daughter, Lorraine Aledar of Ramona, Calif; a son, Jim Sturges of Oceanside, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Parker of Virginia and Margaret Macpherson of Massachusetts; and one brother, Robert Sturges of Texas.
