PORT GIBSON — Udoxie M. Gibbs Gaines died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Claiborne County Senior Care. She was 81.

Mrs. Gaines was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Gaines.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Cynthia Gaines-Montgomery of Detroit; an adopted daughter, Floyce “Peaches” Thomas; and other relatives, including James Ikard of Port Gibson and members of the Thomas, Weddington, Norman, Mitchell, Anderson and Keys families.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fellowship M.B. Church in Lorman with the Rev. Kemp Burley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
