Brenda Rea Ashley of Vicksburg died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 64.

Mrs. Ashley enjoyed gardening, painting, softball and taking care of her family. She worked as a cosmetologist at House of Beauty for seven years, and was a homemaker for 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elzie and Bonnie McGowen Rea; two brothers, Clay Rea and Terrell Rea; and a sister, Doris White.

Survivors include her husband, Frank M. Ashley of Vicksburg; a daughter, Rosemary Ashley of Vicksburg; a son, Bryan Ashley of West Monroe, La.; five sisters, Lillian Jones of Vicksburg, Robbie Wilson of Los Lunas, N.M., Sandra Thomas of Bastrop, La., Kitty Johnson of Jones, La., and Pam Rea of Arkansas; a brother, Leonard Rea of Michigan; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Burch officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
