The Rev. Tommy Miller appreciates any monetary donations given to help run the community center he directs, but sometimes he needs someone ready to roll up sleeves and get hands dirty.

Miller, the executive director at the Good Shepherd Community Center on Cherry Street, said he had around 35 to 40 volunteers during Thanksgiving to sort out food and give out baskets to clients and Christmas will require extra volunteers, too.
