BLUE REVUE WINNERS9 take honors at Zeta Phi Beta pageant

The Nu Kappa Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. held its Ninth Biennial Blue Revue, a pageant and fundraiser to benefit the Patricia J. Scott Memorial Scholarship fund, Oct. 27 at Vicksburg City Auditorium. The proceeds will be used to award scholarships to 2012-2013 high school seniors in Claiborne and Warren counties. Special guests were Mayor Paul Winfield, Dr. L.A. Hall Sr., Shirley Harris and the Mahogany Dancers of Utica. Patricia Woods and Janie Harris served as chairmen for the event, which featured three categories in modeling and talent.

• Cody Burns, the son of Sidra C. and Larry Burns, first place in overall talent and third place in overall modeling.

• Kyra Day, the daughter of Kim Day and Derix Wilson, second place in overall talent.

• Christian Bradfield, the son of Letitia Fields, third place in overall talent.

• Favor Smith, the daughter of Courtney Smith, first place in overall modeling.

• JaMuriel Kinnard, the daughter of Julius III and Michelle Banks, second place in overall modeling.

Diamond Category

• DeKoree Freeman, the daughter of Aaron and Pamela Freeman, first place in overall talent.

• Keyona Burks, the daughter of Pastor James and Arkon Burks, first place in overall modeling and second place in overall talent.

Sapphire Category

• DiMaya Randle, the daughter of Lawrence and Frances Randle, first place in overall talent and first place in overall modeling.

• Evelise Ross, the daughter of Willie and Evelyn Barnes, second place in overall talent and first place in overall modeling.

Top three contestants raising the most funds were Cody, who was crowned Mr. Blue Revue; DeKoree, who earned second place; and Keyona, who earned third place.
