JACKSON — Shirley Jo Howell, 77, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at her home in Jackson. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until the 6 p.m. memorial service today, Nov. 7, 2012, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.

A native of Hazlehurst, Mrs. Howell was born to the late Shirley Aldridge and Kamaht Conn. She was a graduate of Greenwood Leflore School of Nursing, retiring as a registered nurse from MS State Hospital.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Gerald Howell of Jackson; son, Richard Hobbs (Brenda) of Ridgeland; daughter, Stacy Byrne (John) of Vicksburg; brothers, William I. Conn of Brandon and Robert E. Conn of Ridgeland; and grandchildren, Brenner, Brooke, Tracie and Taylor.
