Police are looking for a man accused of shooting a vehicle parked outside Vicksburg High School Friday.

At 2:51 p.m. Friday, a 2005 Honda Pilot was shot three times while parked near Drummond Street and Stadium Drive, police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

The 27-year-old driver of the vehicle and her passengers were not injured, he said.

“As they were attempting to get into the vehicle, shots were fired at the vehicle,” he said.

The woman had come to the school to pick up three students, Stewart said, and the motive for the shooting was unknown Friday.

The shooter, who police declined to identify, fired several times with a 9mm pistol and struck the Honda in the left rear tire and twice in the back hatch, Stewart said.

“Luckily it was all down on the street and not up at the school,” he said.

Following the shooting, the suspect fled in a green Ford Explorer, Stewert said.
