CANTON — Laura Dianne Langley Ellis died April 19, 2012, in an automobile accident in Canton. She was 44.

Laura was born in Greenville and lived most of her life in Vicksburg. She graduated from Warren Central High School, attended Mississippi College and graduated from Belhaven College.

She was a teacher for the past several years. She was at McLaurin Elementary and had been at Canton Arts and Sciences for the past two years. Her beautiful spirit will forever live on in the memory of the hearts and minds of the countless lives she touched while teaching. Her favorite pastimes were creating art, reading, inspiring children, and spending time with family.

Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her father, Robert Wayne Langley, of Vicksburg; maternal grandparents, Jesse and Frances Burch; and paternal grandparents, George W. Langley and Allie Langley Smith, all of Greenville.

Survivors include her wonderful husband of 16 years, Michael Todd Ellis of Brandon; her mother, Patricia (Pat) Langley of Vicksburg; three sisters, Lisa Langley of Brandon, Leigh Anne Rhymer of Natchez, Lacey Lee of Vicksburg; three nieces and seven nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23 at Culpepper Funeral Home in Canton with visitation at 9 a.m. until service time. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg.
