Peyton Rutherford shot an 86, 20 strokes better than her nearest competitor, to earn medalist honors and lead Warren Central to the Division 4-6A championship Thursday at Clear Creek Golf Course.

It was the second tournament victory of the season for Rutherford.

Warren Central’s three golfers — Rutherford, Christine Miller and Hannah Gore — shot 192 as a team and routed Clinton. The Lady Arrows totaled 241.

Miller, a sophomore, shot 106 and Gore 124 for the Lady Vikes. Hollye Weekes was Clinton’s best golfer, with 116.

Both WC and Clinton qualified for the Class 6A state tournament May 7-8 at Canton Country Club.
