Johnson to wed Taylor March 10

Willie and Kimberly-Lee Johnson of Edwards announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Kristy LaMy’A, to Jordan L. Taylor. Mr. Taylor is the son of Jackie Doggett and Rodney Taylor Sr. of Memphis.
Miss Johnson is the granddaughter of Elsie M. Lee and the late E.L. “Baba” Lee of D’Lo and Gertrude and Julius Johnson of Edwards.
Mr. Taylor is the grandson of Elsie Williams and the late Earl Williams and Nathan and Janet Morgan, all of Memphis.
The bride-elect is a 2002 honors graduate of Raymond High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2006 and a Master of Science degree in 2009, both from Jackson State University. She presented research at state and national conferences and received numerous awards.
She is a member of Mount Shiloh M.B. Church in Edwards, where she has served in a number of capacities.
Miss Johnson is employed by Rehab Solutions as a speech-language pathologist at Graceland Nursing Center.
The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of Wooddale High School in Memphis. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lane College in Jackson, Tenn., and is pursuing a Master of Christian Studies degree from Union University.
He received his preaching license in 1999 and was ordained in 2008.
Mr. Taylor is an educator and coach with the Memphis City Schools and is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. He is a member of New Friendship M.B. Church, where he serves as minister of the men’s department.
Vows will be exchanged at 4 p.m. March 10, 2012, at St. Mary M.B. Church in D’Lo. A reception will follow at Richland Community Center, 410 E. Harper St. in Richland.
Following a honeymoon in Orlando, the couple will make their home in Southaven.
