Vicksburg won a hard-fought battle. But Warren Central won the war.

Victoria Lewis scored on a wild pitch to give Vicksburg a 4-3 win Thursday. But WC, which won the first meeting 9-0, earned the Division 4-6A title and a first-round playoff bye via run differential in its season series withVHS.

Vicksburg will open the playoffs tonight at Tupelo.

Leading the way for VHS on Thursday was pitcher Faith Thomas, who came up big at the plate and in the circle. She drove in three runs with a pair of doubles to give Vicksburg an early 3-0 lead, then pitched a two-hit gem with three strikeouts.
