Jowilla Biedenharn White

Jowilla Biedenharn White died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 93.
Jowilla was born in Vicksburg in 1918. She married her beloved husband, Warner Edsol Biedenharn, in 1941. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church. Jowilla was a devoted wife and mother who loved nothing more than being with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Warner E. Biedenharn and J.P. White; her parents, James and Emily Eliza Shaw; three sisters, Ruth Biedenharn, Frederica Shaw and Dorsey Ware; and two brothers, Rivers Hill Shaw and Clifford Shaw.
Survivors include three sons, Warner E. Biedenharn Jr. and wife Lilly of Germantown, Tenn., Herman H. Biedenharn and wife Beverly of Vicksburg and David S. Biedenharn and wife Linda of Vicksburg; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family would especially like to thank the caregivers (Donna Elzie, Phyllis Tingle, Bobbie Irving, Irene Mayfield and Helena Williams) who treated their mother with such kindness. They would also like to thank the home health professionals at Amedisys Home Health and the wonderful care and personalized attention of Dr. Susan Chiarito. The family would also like to extend its appreciation to Vickie Williamson of the Townhouse Styling Salon for being such a good friend and providing transportation each week to her hair appointments.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church, 1501 Cherry St. Vicksburg, Miss., with the Revs. Tim Brown and Jim Biedenharn officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Ave. in Vicksburg, and Saturday at the church from 9:30 until the service.
Pallbearers will be Warner E. Biedenharn III, Herman H. Biedenharn Jr., Brent S. Biedenharn, Brien D. Biedenharn, James A. Secoy, Rivers Hill Shaw Jr., Richard E. Biedenharn, Jack U. Biedenharn and Peter W. Hanks.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Ware, Jerry Schober, Wallace Jacobson, Raymond Perkins, Ray Roberts and Wayne Roberts.
