Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen agenda items

At a called meeting Wednesday, the Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen:

• Authorized a $720,500 contract with Fordice Construction for the construction of a T-hangar at the Vicksburg Municipal Airport.

• Authorized payment of $1,070,010.75 to Kansas City Southern for reimbursement for engineering services and sewer system repairs. South Ward Alderman Sid Beauman said the work dates to the previous administration.

• Executed a contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers covering details for the upcoming Wisconsin Avenue closure and bridge construction project.

• Adopted various budget amendments to balance the 2008-09 fiscal year budget, which ended Wednesday.

In closed session, the board:

• Approved two employment action forms in the police department.

• Discussed one personnel matter in the water treatment plant.

The board is scheduled to meet next at 10 a.m. Monday in room 109 of the City Hall Annex, 1415 Walnut St.
