HERMANVILLE — Dorothy Jennings died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 60.

Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Cecile Johnson; and two brothers, Howard Brown and Wilton Brown.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbur O. Jennings of Hermanville; a stepson, Everett J. Jennings of Hawaii; a stepdaughter, Vernetta J. Woods of Detroit; two brothers, Raymond Johnson and Henry Johnson, both of Detroit; three sisters, Elaine Richardson of Wayne, Mich., Hazel Smith of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Henrietta McCurdy of Canada; five grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Linda B. Smith and Greta Cherry, both of Detroit.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Faustin M. Misakabo officiating. Burial will follow at Jennings Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service
