A Glen Allan man sought in a fatal shooting near Anguilla Sunday morning has been detained by the Sharkey County Sheriff’s Office.
Andrea Thomas, 25, 16 Wildwood St., was picked up by Greenville Police Wednesday around noon, said Sharkey County Chief Deputy Stanley Coleman.
“Thomas is being held on a murder investigation,” Coleman said. “He has not been charged.” He was being held in the Issaquena County Jail.
Thomas had been sought since the early Sunday shooting outside Club 14 on Sunflower River Road left one man dead, another critically wounded and a third shot in the foot.
Roosevelt Montgomery, 28, 2927 Louise Road, was pronounced dead at 2:14 a.m. by Sharkey County Coroner Angelia Eason. Montgomery died from a gunshot wound to the chest, she said.
Shawn Montgomery, age and address unknown, who is Roosevelt Montgomery’s brother, was critically wounded. He remained in University Medical Center in Jackson today, with no change in his condition, Coleman said.
Kendrick Johnson, 26, also of Glen Allan but street address unknown, was shot in the foot, Coleman said. He was treated at Delta Regional Medical Center and then arrested on misdemeanor warrants from the Rolling Fork Police Department, Coleman said Tuesday.
Thomas was picked up by Greenville Police acting on “a tip from a concerned citizen,” Coleman said today. “They followed up and then contacted us. We appreciated their assistance.”
Law enforcement officials can hold suspects for up to 72 hours without filing charges
