City man arrested for probation violation

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County jail this morning for violating his probation.
Tyrone Lee Clay, 40, 1711 Grove St., was arrested while walking at 12:02 this morning at First North and Bodley streets, Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department said.
Stewart said a police officer stopped Clay because of recent reports of burglaries in the area. He was held without bond for Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Vicksburg man jailed for Tenn. authorities
A Vicksburg man who was wanted in Tennessee was in the Warren County jail this morning on federal theft charges.
William Hillman, 75, 212 Manchester Drive, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home and charged with theft of more than $10,000 in Tennessee, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Details of the Tennessee charge were unavailable.
Pace said Hillman had been arrested Nov. 4 in Warren County on other charges stemming from Louisiana. He had posted a $10,000 bond later that day.
He was being held without bond.
300 pounds of fertilizer missing from nursery
A business burglary was reported in the city Tuesday.
Three hundred pounds of fertilizer was reported missing at 2:45 p.m. from Watkins’ Nursery Home & Garden Center, 3698 S. Frontage Road.
The value was not available.
Four car burglaries reported in city, county
A report of vandalism of two vehicles at one home was reported in the city this morning.
More than $500 in damages to a 2007 Mercedes ML 350 and a 2005 Silverado pickup were reported at 6:18 a.m. in the driveway of a home in the 1400 block of Parkside Drive.
The Mercedes’ rear passenger window had been broken and a rear door had a stabbing mark and the Silverado’s rear driver-side window was broken along with scratches on the door.
Separately, two auto burglaries were reported in the county Tuesday.
A 40-calibur semi-automatic pistol valued at $800, a Sig P-239 semi-automatic pistol valued at $900 and four magazines for semi-automatic pistols valued at $120 were reported missing at 7:54 a.m. from a 2008 GMC Sierra pickup in the 100 block of Olde Trace Drive.
The truck had about $200 in damages.
Also reported missing in the same block at 8:20 a.m. from a GMC Sierra pickup was a pair of diamond earrings valued at $1,365.
That vehicle was also reported to have $300 in damages.
Clothes, shoes missing on Oak
A residential burglary was reported in the city Tuesday.
Assorted clothing valued at $300 and a pair of Nike Cortez shoes valued at $65 were reported missing at 5:50 p.m. from a home in the 2400 block of Oak Street.
