Business portfolio|Tourism executive to speak at VAMP

Sandy Bynum, communications and advertising director for the Mississippi Development Authority Tourism Division, will speak at the July meeting of the Vicksburg Association of Marketing Professionals.
The meeting will be at noon July 7 at Cedar Grove Chapel, 2200 Oak St. Bynum was the former public relations manager for the tourism division from 1996 to 1999 and was executive director of the Meridian and the Greenwood Convention and Visitors Bureau.
She has won numerous marketing awards and was a former Miss Hospitality and Junior Miss. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. VAMP meets each first Tuesday.

MSU will host field day in July
The Mississippi State University Delta Research and Extension Center will host its annual Agronomic Field Day July 16.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and will include topics such as rice production; herbicides, breeding and seed treatments; cotton insect research; soybean diseases and irrigation; and tillage.
Continuing education units will be available to certified crop advisers. The event is free.

Governor’s Job Fair in Vicksburg Aug. 4
The Governor’s Job Fair Network is bringing its annual job fair to Vicksburg.
The event, one of several across the state, will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Vicksburg Convention Center. Organizers are seeking employers for the event. Booth fees are $150, plus extra for amenities.
