A Warren County couple indicted last week by the grand jury for methamphetamine were arrested Tuesday night and charged with cooking more of the volatile drug at their home.

James Hart, 36, and Ashley Rees, 25, 705 Standard Hill Road, were charged with manufacturing and possession of meth after an investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Vicksburg Police Department, officials said.

Each agency had received information that the two were cooking meth, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Hart and Rees were in the Warren County Jail this morning without bond pending an initial court appearance on the new charges, Pace said.

“They were not eligible since they were already out on bond,” he said of the two who had been arrested March 5 by deputies at 201 Berryman Road Apartment A6 along with Jamie Chaloux, 31, and Billy Sanders, 51.

At the time, all four shared the home and were charged with possession of precursor chemicals and possession of a controlled substance.

Hart and Rees had been indicted by the October term of the grand jury on the March charges.

On Tuesday night, officials found enough material at the home that a hazardous cleanup crew from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration had to be called, Pace said.
