Wilson, Jones to wed at Travelers Rest M.B.

Percy and Phyllis Wilson of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Valshetia, to Arlo Jones. Mr. Jones is the son of Geneva Jones Douglas and the late Doug Douglas, Robert Jones and Deborah Jones, all of Vicksburg.

Miss Wilson is the granddaughter of Ernestine Carson and the late Earl Carson Sr., the late Elmira Wilson and the late Armon Wilson Sr., all of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was a member of the band and Library Club.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Southern University and A&M College, where she was a member of the 3M Frontline Sales Association, Marketing Club and BEEP.

Miss Wilson is employed at Vicksburg Junior High School.

The prospective groom is a 1998 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where he was a member of the Library Club and Key Club.

He is a veteran of the Army, having served as a pharmacy technician.

Mr. Jones is pursuing a social work degree at Alcorn State University.

The wedding will be at 5 p.m. June 6, 2009, at Travelers Rest M.B. Church. A reception will follow at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
