Two teens held after two break-ins

Two Vicksburg teens were arrested for burglary and curfew violation early this morning after a burglary and then a burglary in progress were reported at the same house, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Patrolmen arrested the 16-year-olds at 129 Elizabeth Circle during the burglary in progress at 12:08.

“We responded back … and found the front door kicked in,” said Stewart.

About two hours earlier, the theft of a Dell laptop computer valued at $600, assorted jewelry valued at $200 and assorted men’s clothing valued at $150 were reported stolen.

The resident was not home during the first burglary but had returned by the time of the second break-in, Stewart said.

No one was injured, and both juveniles were in the Warren County Youth Detention Center.

Engagement ring, cash missing from vehicle

An engagement ring and money were among items reported stolen in Vicksburg Tuesday, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

An engagement ring valued at $500, a $50 Walmart gift card, $200, a pair of silver earrings valued at $30 and $5 in coins were reported stolen from a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria in the 700 block of Belmont Street at 3:30 p.m.

About $60 was reported taken from a home in the 3500 block of Manor Drive at 1:15 p.m.

Tools, toys hot in county thefts

In reports from Warren County this morning, power tools and children’s toys were among items that were reported missing Friday.

Tools valued at $1,960 were missing from a shop in the 9900 block of Mississippi 3 at 2:47 p.m.

A trampoline valued at $1,700, a Polaris 4-wheeled toy all terrain vehicle valued at $300 and a battery-operated Barbie Jeep valued at $300 were reported stolen from a home in the 4900 block of Halls Ferry Road at 3:03 p.m.

A Sony CD car stereo valued at $200 was reported stolen from a 1998 Mazda 626 in the 5600 block of Gibson Road at 3:53 p.m.
