Florence B. Bori

Florence B. Bori died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at the Heritage House Retirement Center. She was 88.
Born in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late James Alvin Betts and Eugenia Mackey Betts.
Mrs. Bori was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy and retired from the Mississippi River Commission. She was a communicant of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she was a member of the St. Paul Altar Society and the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, former alderman and county supervisor O.J. Bori Jr.; a daughter, Bonnie Bori Breithaupt; and three sisters.
She is survived by a niece, Terry Sparks; and cousins, including members of the Loviza, Curro and Vedros families.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Farrell officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service.
Pallbearers will be Joe Loviza, Mark Vedros, Stephen Vedros, Philip Vedros III, Ray McLaurin, Gregory Curro and Joseph Curro.
Honorary pallbearers will be Elnora Galloway, Nancy Libbey, Marlene McLaurin, Hilda Moeller, Willie London, Dorothy Miles, Lena Nickerson, Dr. Russell Barnes, Annie Mae Mahoney, Marie Pantoliano and the staff of Heritage House Retirement Center.
