This past Saturday night, our family really enjoyed attending the production of Neil Simon’s three-act play, “Plaza Suite,” at the Coral Room of The Vicksburg. It was a presentation of a newer local theater group, the Westside Theatre Foundation. A very receptive, though small, audience laughed, clapped and had a great time.

Very cleverly written, the plots were hilarious, with adult theme and language. Directed by Roy Bailey, the cast gave very professional and polished performances. Anyone who would appreciate a relaxing, inexpensive and fun-filled evening shouldn’t miss it. You can still catch tonight’s closing performance. Get out and support this talented group by treating yourself to an evening you will enjoy.

Seniors go surfing

On behalf of United Way’s Teen HELP/Rotary Interact Club, I would like to extend a personal thank you to Cellular South, Deb Mitchell of the Warren County-Vicksburg Library and The Vicksburg Post for supporting our efforts to host “Granny Go Surfing and Cell Phone Blast” earlier this month at the library.

A special thank you to those seniors who came out in support of the project as well. We had so much fun interacting with the seniors. They were fun, patient, kind and, I think, befitted from the project. I think they enjoyed the time we spent with them also. We hope to repeat this program in the near future earlier in the day so more seniors will be able to attend.

We love our community and want to see it continue to grow and prosper.

Going for the Eagle

I want to thank Sheffield Rentals, McCoy’s and Sherwin-Williams their donation to my Eagle Scout project which was done at the Good Shepherd Community Center. My project was to remodel the windows for insulation. The top half of the window frame was completely covered with plywood and the bottom frame had Plexiglas installed on it. The lumber, paint, and the mechanical lift that were donated made this project possible. I am happy to say that the project was a success and is saving Good Shepherd Community Center hundreds on its heating and cooling bills. Thank you for helping Good Shepherd Community Center and Boy Scouts of America.
