A Vicksburg man working at a tractor dealership is accused of taking “a sizeable amount” of equipment over a month was arrested Monday and remained in the Warren County Jail this morning.

Shane Rollinson, 22, 3060 Porters Chapel Road, was charged with embezzlement and held without bond pending an initial court appearance.

He is accused of taking lawn equipment from Cook Tractor, 680 U.S. 80, and selling it, said Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace.

An inventory of items believed stolen has not been completed, but Pace said he expected it to be “sizable” and the value to correspond.

Rollinson was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Monday after leaving the business.

Some of the missing items were recovered.

Two county men held for burglary tools

Two Warren County brothers were in the Warren County Jail this morning, charged with possession of burglary tools.

Timmy Wilson, 41, 526 Feld St., and Randy Wilson, 45, 1828 Martin Luther King Blvd., were charged after being stopped at Jeff Davis and Fisher Ferry roads at about 2 this morning.

The brothers are accused of backing a white Chevrolet pickup with dealer temporary plates up to a home in the 300 block of Glass Road and trying to take a John Deere lawn mower.

When they saw a security officer at a business across the street, they left the home without the lawn mower.

Warren County deputies received a report of suspicious activity at 1 a.m. from the security officer.

After the Wilson brothers were stopped, deputies found  crow bars, sledge hammers, bolt cutters, flash lights, two ski masks and gloves in the vehicle.

Additional charges of the attempted theft of the lawn mower could be filed today, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Both were being held without bond pending an initial hearing.

Games, ACs, wallet missing in Vicksburg

A video game console and air-conditioning/heating units were among items reported missing in Vicksburg Monday, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

An Xbox 360 video game console valued at $435 was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Starlight Drive at 4:51 p.m.

Two Payne air-conditioning/heating units valued at $300 each were reported stolen from a home in the 2700 block of Oak Street at 7:15 p.m.

A Fossil wallet and contents valued at $100 and a Nike backpack valued at $40 were reported taken from a 2001 Chevrolet Impala in the 1300 block of Washington Street at 9:30 p.m.

Food store burglary could be tied to others

Vicksburg police received a report of an attempted burglary of FoodMax grocery store early Saturday morning and believe the crime might be related to two thefts on Clay Street last week.

Vicksburg patrolman saw two in their late teens or early 20s wearing dark clothes running north on Washington Street from the 2785 N. Washington St. store, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

No arrests were made, and Stewart believes the two belong to the same group spotted early Friday at Payless Shoe Source, 1500 Clay St., in which a 16-year-old was arrested after being found inside the store.

The teen remained in the Warren County Detention Center.

The shoe store burglary happened five days after four juveniles were believed to be responsible for a break-in at Maurice’s T-shirts, 2121 Clay St., in which about $4,300 in jewelry, clothing, belt buckles, lighters and other goods were missing. No arrests had been made in that case, but surveillance equipment indicated four juveniles were involved.
