Emily Middleton died Thursday, July 16, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 89.

Mrs. Middleton served on the Mother’s Board and was a member of Mount Zion Church No. 4. She was a domestic worker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mose and Hattie Moore Wardley; four sisters, Celia Anderson, Florence Barnes, Helen Wardley and Mary Anderson; and four brothers, Willie Wardley, William Wardley, Sylvester Wardley and George Smith.

Survivors include numerous relatives and friends including Donald Woods; and the Wardley and Anderson families of Vicksburg and Port Gibson.
