Hulon H. McLeod

TAMARAC, Fla. — Hulon H. McLeod, formerly of Vicksburg and Port Gibson, died Friday, July 17, 2009, at his home in Tamarac, Fla. He was 88.

Mr. McLeod served in the Naval Air Force in World War II as a rear gunnerman. He received a Presidential Citation for extraordinary heroism in action and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years of employment.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary McLeod; one daughter, Ann Amisano of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two grandsons; and other relatives.

Services with military honors were July 21 at Forest Hill South Cemetery in Memphis.
