About 90 Entergy customers in Warren County were still without power this morning, but spokesman Don Arnold said all power should be restored by this afternoon — just in time for more severe weather in the forecast.
“We got an additional 12 crews yesterday afternoon, which helped us out a lot and we should have the rest of these back on by midafternoon,” said Arnold.
About 600 residences, mostly south of Vicksburg, were without power following severe weather Wednesday night. No power outages were reported last night, he said.
The fourth and final night of storms is forecast to sweep across Mississippi tonight, said Ashley Wester, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jackson.
“There’s going to be another pretty powerful storm system coming through, beginning early afternoon,” she said. “We are expecting storms producing strong winds, hail and possibly tornadoes.”
The forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of rain today in Vicksburg. Arnold said Entergy will hold some of the additional crews it got overnight in case they’re needed Saturday morning. Wester said the storms should move east of Vicksburg overnight.
