Meeting Monday, Warren County supervisors:

* Approved a lease-purchase financed by Hancock Bank at 3.13 percent interest for E-911 Dispatch Center equipment costing $518,442.93. The addition enables dispatchers to pinpoint the location of calls placed from cell phones and Internet sites.

* Agreed to ask for permission from the Legislature to donate $167,500 from next year’s tax collections to 13 charities. The request is the same as this year, though supervisors have said actual allocations to each will be cut by 10 percent.

* OK’d their travel expenses to upcoming events held by the Mississippi Association of Supervisors. Richard George of District 5 and Bill Lauderdale of District 4 voted no on the MAS summer convention. Lauderdale alone voted no on District 3 Supervisor Charles Selmon, president of the MAS Minority Caucus, attending the caucus’ spring conference April 13-15 in Tupelo.

* OK’d expenses of Emergency Management Director Gwen Coleman for the 2009 Gulf States Hurricane Conference in Biloxi.

* Approved bills totaling $708,996.31 from County Engineer John McKee involving state aid, local system bridge program, anti-erosion, E.W. Haining Road project and general county engineering services. 

* Approved estimates of $307,930.78 for the Natural Resource Conservation Project at LeTourneau Road and $130,427.30 for eight additional sites in the same program.

* Declared a 2004 Ford Taurus from the sheriff’s department surplus and available for sale at auction.

* Approved employee Warren Nevels to fill a position as a master pilot of the Kings Point Ferry

* Following executive session, took no action on a personnel matter in justice court and OK’d the termination of two road employees.
