Cameron Hunter Owen

BRANDON — Cameron Hunter Owen died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at his home. He was 21.

Mr. Owen was a 2005 graduate of Porters Chapel Academy, where he was a member of the Key Club and football team. He was recognized as all-county and all-district in football his senior year. He served his country in the United States Army as a ranger from 2005 to 2007. Cameron was a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a member of Bovina Baptist Church and a landscaper. Cameron had a special relationship with his aunts, Kristi Hobbs and Sandra Beard of Brandon.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bart and Beatrice Hobbs; and his paternal grandfather, Ralph Owen.

Survivors include his parents, James R. and Teresa H. Owen of Vicksburg; three brothers, Trenton Owen and his wife Mysti of Vicksburg, Sean Owen of Starkville and Scott Owen of Vicksburg; a paternal grandmother, Catherine Owen of Brandon; a nephew, Jackson Owen of Starkville; and two nieces, Mia Grace Owen of Vicksburg and Cathleen Owen of Elizabethtown, Ky.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with Brian Parker and Jess Sumrall officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park in Natchez at 4 p.m. with Glenwood Funeral Home handling arrangements. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Carney, Brett Cupstid, Dean Hill, Joe Mocknick, Blake Cupstid, Adam Embry, Phillip Lasseter and Tyler Robinson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Bingham, Hayden Hales, Chris Mixon, Shane Rollison, Allen Cassell, Marty McDougal, Allen Pugh, Bryan Wells and Randy Wright Jr.
