Miss Cook to marry Mr. McKinnie Aug. 15

Ray and Trudy Cook of Columbus announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Claire, to Scott David McKinnie of Brandon. Mr. McKinnie is the son of Charles and Susan McKinnie of Vicksburg.

Miss Cook is the granddaughter of Ken and Jimmie Cook and Cathy Pennington of Columbus.

Mr. McKinnie is the grandson of David and Mildred Kennedy of Magee and J.C. and Beverly Ann McKinnie of Madison.

The bride-elect graduated as salutatorian from New Hope High School in 2004. She received an accounting degree from Mississippi University for Women and a Master of Public Accountancy from Mississippi State University.

Miss Cook has accepted a position as staff accountant at BKD LLP in Jackson, where she will begin employment in January.

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Warren Central High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Mississippi State University. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Mr. McKinnie is a project engineer for Garver of Brandon.

Vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. Aug. 15, 2009, at Fairview Baptist Church in Columbus. A reception will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
