Dr. George at Work

Q: I am an office manager who has to buy some furniture for our customer waiting area. I have looked at several types, and they are all ultra modern and ultra uncomfortable. That seems to be the style these days. What ever happened to the old-fashioned comfortable chairs and sofas? — Need Function, Not Form
A: Forget the trendy forms and hard wavy backs of these newly designed chairs. Get something comfortable. Many people have back problems. Why would you want to irritate customers by forcing them to abuse their spines on some Frank Lloyd Wright-lookalike. Don’t let the furniture fashionistas lure you into furniture that brings a grimace to your customer’s face.
