Leroy Jackson

FAYETTE — Leroy Jackson died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at his home. He was 70.

Mr. Jackson was a retired cement finisher and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Jackson and Willie Mae Clark; and one sister, Thelma Jackson.

Survivors include seven sons, Lonzel Chambliss of Jackson, Warren Davis of New Orleans, Freddrick Chambliss, Leroy Chambliss, Dontonio Earls and Dennis Chambliss, all of Fayette and Larry Chambliss of Vicksburg; three daughters, Pamela Chambliss of Fayette, Betty Jackson of Pontiac, Mich., and Gloria Chambliss of Fayette; five brothers, Benard Jackson, Carl B. Jackson and Thedore Jackson, all of Chicago, and James “Scat” Jackson and Jarious Jackson, both of Fayette; two sisters, Cora Mae Jackson of Chicago and Helen Wilson of Washington, D.C.; 29 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services were today with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating. Burial followed at Hollywood Cemetery in Fayette with Rollins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
