George Ward Sr.

Mr. George Ward Sr. died Monday, April 6, 2009, at his home. He was 91.
A native and lifelong resident of Warren County. He was the son of the late Jim and Eddie Hearron Ward.
Mr. Ward worked for Anderson-Tully Company in many departments, retiring in 1982 as foreman of the dry kiln. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the First Methodist Protestant Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; six brothers; and a son. George Ward Jr.
Mr. Ward is survived by his wife of 70 years, Martha S. Ward of Vicksburg; a daughter Peggy Ward Daniels (Donnie) of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Ward Daniels (Katy), Louanne Myers (Troy), Leslie Haynes (Berry) and George L. “Scooter” Ward; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua Myers, Caleb Myers, Peyton Wilson and Nathan Weathersby.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Robert C. Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5 until 7 and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Charles Hintson, James Walter Alexander, Jimmy Hall, Wayne Acuff, Wesley Cunningham and Ricky Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wallace Goza, C.C. Hamby, Darryl Southern, T.J. Jemerson and Buddy Terrell.
