Two arrested on weapons charges

A Vicksburg man arrested Tuesday was charged with being a felon with a gun.

Ar’Menn Stewart, 19, was arrested at his home at 1400 Bowmar Ave., said Sgt. Sandra Williams of the Vicksburg Police Department.

A .22 caliber Derringer was confiscated, Williams said.

He was in the Warren County Jail this morning, being held for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

In another weapons case, a  Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail Tuesday for having a stolen handgun.

Jarvis Bingham, 24, 520 Bowmar Ave., was arrested by Vicksburg police at 10:08 a.m. after police served him with a warrant for contempt of court, Williams said.

Bingham was placed in custody and a .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun was found in his pocket, said Williams.

A serial number checked showed the gun had been reported stolen.

Bingham is charged with possession of a stolen firearm.

He was released on a $7,500 bond.

Burglary reported at tax office on Clay

A business burglary was reported in the city Tuesday.

Reported missing at 8:41 a.m. from Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, 1718 Clay St., were four Dell computers and monitors valued at $1,500 each, an HP computer with two monitors valued at $2,600, two Canon laser printers valued at $400 each, two phones valued at $290, a box of toner valued at $76 and a stapler valued at $12.

Jewely, computers hot in house burglary

A residential burglary was reported at 2:13 this morning in the 1100 block of Jefferson Street.

Reported missing were a Dell laptop, a Dell CPU, a keyboard and mouse, a silver and gold Fossil watch, a pair of diamond earrings and a pair of gold hoop earrings, no value listed for any of the items.
