Morgan C. Caruthers died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 10.

Morgan was a fifth-grader at Redwood Elementary School. She loved hunting and fishing and Vicksburg Girls Softball.

She was preceded in death by a paternal great-grandmother, Evelyn S. Caruthers; a paternal great-grandfather, Shelby J. Mann Jr.; her maternal grandfather, Leo Pugh; and her maternal great-grandparents, Hester and Ava P. Rhoads and Elmo L. and Opal S. Screws.

She is survived by her parents, Tac and Renee Rhoads Caruthers of Vicksburg; one brother, Thomas Rhoads Caruthers of Vicksburg; one sister, Jessica Jenkins Sullivan of Benton; her maternal grandparents, Henry Rhoads of Holly Bluff and Corine Pugh of Vicksburg; her paternal grandparents, Tom III and Georgia M. Caruthers of Vicksburg; a paternal great-grandmother, Maxine F. Mann of Vicksburg; a paternal great-grandfather, Tom Caruthers Jr. of Vicksburg; maternal aunts and uncles, Kelly Rhoads and Tanya P. and Chris Holman; paternal aunts and uncles, Jeffery Paul and Nancy H. Caruthers and George A. and Amber S. Caruthers; niece, Ryleigh Taylor Sullivan; and numerous cousins and extended family and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Chapel in Vicksburg with the Revs. Harry Hawkins and Geoffrey Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Rhoads, Adam Caruthers, Jeff Caruthers, Chris Holman, Gray Jackson and Robert Selman.
