Four charged in uttering forgeries

Four Vicksburg people were arrested on charges of uttering forgeries after being picked up on warrants during a traffic stop and at home Tuesday afternoon, Vicksburg police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.
Maurice Terrell Jackson, 30, 109 South Drive, and Shawn Jones, 35, 530 Hugo St., were arrested at 3:52 p.m. in the 1900 block of Drummond Street for cashing counterfeit checks, amounts and description not provided.
A patrolman recognized Jackson from a warrant issued in a forgery at River City Liquor, 2192 Iowa Blvd. Jones was wanted for four counts, but details of those crimes were unavailable.
During their arrests, police found a $652.19 counterfeit Gulf South Pipeline payroll check and a $521.87 counterfeit DBA Scottish Inn payroll check in Jones’ possession, said Williams.
The men were traveling in a vehicle registered to Jones’ girlfriend, Kimberly Treshae Harper, 35, 3120 Second St., Williams said. When she arrived to pick up the car, the patrolman arrested her on a warrant for cashing a $531.59 counterfeit Scottish Inn payroll check also at the liquor store on July 25.
Less than an hour later, Jimmie Jackson, 26, also of 3120 Second St., was arrested at her home for cashing a $534.63 counterfeit Scottish Inn payroll check at the same liquor store, also on July 25.
Williams said she believes the two women cashed the checks together.
Two county residents jailed in drug cases
Two Vicksburg people were in the Warren County Jail today on separate charges.
Renee Tucker, 27, 866 Burnt House Road, was arrested Tuesday by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics for prescription forgery, jail records showed.
She was being held without bond pending a hearing.
Michael Conn, 52, 115 B Blackwell Drive, was being held without bond pending a hearing for drug court violation, jail records showed.
Stereo, TV, gun among missing items
An assortment of items were reported stolen in the city, police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.
A VR3 stereo valued at $400 was reported taken from a 1999 Dodge pickup at a business in the 90 block of Warrenton Road at 5:44 a.m. today.
A 32-inch TV, no value or brand provided, was reported stolen from a home in the 1900 block of Hope Street at 7:34 p.m. on Tuesday.
A Ruger 45-mm handgun with an attached laser valued at $750, five magazines valued at $150 and 20 chocolate candy bars valued at $20 were reported taken from a home in the 100 block of Skyline Drive at 7:21 p.m. Tuesday.
In the county, several items were stolen Tuesday evening, Warren County Sheriff’s office records showed.
An Echo Weed Eater valued at $179 and a 5-gallon gas can valued at $5 were reported stolen from a home in the 4300 block of Winchester Road at 4:11 p.m.
Two Goodyear Centron tires and hubcaps valued at $200 were reported stolen from a business in the 7000 block of Fisher Ferry Road at 5:22 p.m.
Hazlehurst man hurt in wreck on highway
A Hazlehurst man was injured in a wreck involving an 18-wheeler at U.S. 61 North and North Washington Street at 12:23 Tuesday afternoon.
Johnny Fair, 61, 290 Massengill St., was taken to River Region Medical Center.
River Region Medical Center did not return calls for a condition report.
